T56

The T56 is a single shaft, turboprop engine with a 14 stage axial flow compressor powered by a four stage turbine. It was first developed by the Allison Engine Company, which was acquired by Rolls-Royce, and began production in 1954. The engine’s maximum power output is 4,350 shp. Platforms that utilize the T56 include the C-130 Hercules, E-2 Hawkeye, and P-3 Orion.
