F-5 TIGER II
The F-5 Tiger II is an improved version of the F-5A Freedom Fighter. It was envisioned to be a highly maneuverable, lightweight, and inexpensive air fighter. The F-5’s armament boasts two M-39 20 mm cannons, rockets, missiles, and 5,500 pounds of bombs externally.
The F-5 Tiger II was manufactured by Northrop and first flew in 1972. Its maximum speed is Mach 1.63 and it can cruise at 650 mph. The F-5’s range is 2,300 miles with external fuel tanks and its service ceiling is 51,800 feet.
